Complex Sentence คือ อะไร ตอบ Complex sentence คือ ประโยคความซ้อนซึ่งประกอบด้วยประโยคย่อย 2 ประโยคขึ้นไป คือประโยคใจความหลัก ( main clause) 1 ประโยคที่เป็นประโยคย่อยอิสระ (independent clause) ซึ่งอยู่ตามลำพังได้ และประโยคใจความรอง ( subordinate clause) ที่เป็นประโยคย่อยไม่อิสระ ( dependent clause) ซึ่งต้องพึ่งพา main clause
subordinate clause เป็นประโยคย่อยที่ขึ้นต้นด้วยคำที่ใช้เชื่อมกับ main clause โดย subordinate clause แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ประเภท ได้แก่ noun clause, adjective clause และ adverb clause

จะเห็นได้ว่าส่วนที่เป็น main clause ในตัวอย่างข้างต้นเป็นประโยคที่เป็นอิสระ สามารถอยู่ตามลำพังได้ โดยไม่ต้องมีประโยคย่อยอีกส่วนหนึ่งมาประกอบ แต่ส่วนที่เป็น subordinate clause ไม่ สามารถอยู่ตามลำพังโดยไม่มีประโยคที่เป็น main clause ได้
ในโมดูลที่ 10-12 ต่อไปนี้จะได้บรรยายถึง subordinate noun clause, adjective clause และ adverb clause ในรายละเอียดตามลำดับต่อไป
