Exclamatory Sentence คือ อะไร ตอบ Exclamatory Sentence คือ ประโยคอุทาน การอุทานนอกจากผู้พูดกล่าวคำอุทานเป็นคำ ๆ หรือเป็นกลุ่มคำ ยังกล่าวคำอุทานเป็นประโยคด้วย ประโยคอุทาน ได้แก่ประโยคที่ผู้พูดกล่าวคำพูดที่แสดงความรู้สึกหรืออารมณ์ดีใจ ประหลาดใจ ผิดหวัง เสียใจ ฯลฯ ของตน เช่น
How slow this bus is!
How lovely you are!
What a beautiful day it is!
What a large house it is!
ประโยคอุทานมีโครงสร้างดังนี้
1) ประโยคอุทานที่เริ่มต้นด้วย how บางโครงสร้างเป็นประโยค เช่น ‘How lovely your garden is!’ แต่บางโครงสร้างมีลักษณะเป็นกลุ่มคำ ( phrase) เช่น
How + adjective
How strange! ( ไม่มีคำกริยา จึงมีลักษณะเหมือนกลุ่มคำ)
How + adjective + subject + verb
How funny he looks!
How + adverb + subject + verb
How fast he runs!
How + subject + verb
How you’ve grown!
2) ประโยคอุทานที่เริ่มต้นด้วย what บางโครงสร้างเป็นประโยค แต่บางโครงสร้างมีลักษณะเป็นกลุ่มคำ เช่น
What + a + singular countable noun
What a fool!
What + a + adjective + singular countable noun
What a rude boy!
What + plural countable noun
What lovely roses!
What + uncountable noun
What delicious soup!
What + a + singular countable noun + subject + verb
What a mess he made!
What + plural countable noun/ mass noun + subject + verb
What loud noises they are making!
What beautiful hair she has!
3) ประโยคอุทานที่มีโครงสร้างเป็นรูปคำถามปฏิเสธ โดยปิดท้ายประโยคด้วยเครื่องหมาย ! เช่น
Aux. verb + subject + main verb
Hasn’t he grown! (He has grown a lot.)
Be + subject + a/an + adjective + singular countable noun หรือ
Be + subject + adjective + plural countable noun/ mass noun
Wasn’t that a good movie!
Weren’t they smart boys!
Wasn’t that delicious soup!
