Possessive คือ อะไร ตอบ Possessive คือ คำแสดงเจ้าของ: my, your, his, her, etc. ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในห้าชนิด ของ Determiner

possessive มีวิธีใช้ดังต่อไปนี้คือ
1) possessive adjective ใช้เป็นคำกำกับนามที่ตามมา เพื่อแสดงความเป็นเจ้าของคน สิ่งของ
ฯลฯ นั้น เช่น
John went out with his friend . (his หมายถึง ของ John)
(= เพื่อนของ John)
Lucy bought her mother a birthday present. (her หมายถึง ของ Lucy)
(= แม่ของ Lucy)
We went out with our friend . (our หมายถึง ของ We)
(= เพื่อนของ We)
2) ถ้าผู้เป็นเจ้าของ เป็นสัตว์หรือสิ่งของ ให้ใช้ its เช่น
The dog wagged its tail when it was happy. (its หมายถึง ของ dog)
(= หางของ dog)
That tree drops its leaves in autumn. (its หมายถึง ของ tree)
(= ใบของ tree)
** ถ้าทราบเพศของสัตว์ที่เป็นเจ้าของ ให้ใช้ his/ her ได้ เช่น
The dog is feeding her puppies. (her หมายถึง ของ dog)
(= ลูก ๆ ของ dog)
3) ถ้าผู้เป็นเจ้าของมีมากกว่าหนึ่ง ให้ใช้ their เช่น
The girls are talking to their brother . (their หมายถึง ของ the girl
(= พี่/น้องชาย ของ the girls)
4) possessive adjective ใช้นำหน้าคำนามเอกพจน์/ พหูพจน์ได้โดยไม่ต้องเปลี่ยนรูป เช่น
my book / my books
her brother / her brothers
5) เมื่อต้องการจะเน้นความเป็นเจ้าของ ใช้ own แทรกระหว่าง possessive adjective และ
คำนาม เช่น my own money, his own idea
